Gernot Redbeard is a supporting character on the Netflix original series Barbarians. He is portrayed by Marc Ben Puch.
Gernot was the Bructeri Reik before he was killing by Arminius for refusing to bow down to Rome.[1]

Gernot attends the Germanic tribal meeting, during which time they discuss how Rome is now demanding that they pay tribute. The tribes decide to put it up to a vote. Gernot refuses to pay any tribute and is willing to go to war where as some of the others aren't. And so, with that, Reik Segimer announces that they will keep the peace.
Reik Gernot is taken prisoner by Metellus after refusing to pay tribute. Varus gives him another chance to submit, but instead, Gernot spits on the standard. So Varus sentences him to death. Arminius takes the sword from Metellus and beheads Gernot.[1]
