Luco is a supporting character on the Netflix original series Barbarians. He is portrayed by Marlon Boess.
Luco was a young Cheruscan who joined Folkwin Wolfspeer on his quest to vanquish Rome, though he was later killed by Metellus after parting ways with his Germanic brethren.[1]
Throughout the Series[]
Season 1[]
Stealing Rome's Eagle[]
luco chants Eigil, Hanno, Folkwin, and Thusnelda's name as they return to Cherusci with Rome's eagle.[2]
Following Folkwin[]
Luco watches helplessly as Folkwin's family is crucifed for having stolen the eagle. Afterward, Hanno and Eigil confront Segestes for his treachery, though Segestes claims this is Folkwin’s fault.
When Folkwin finally returns, Luco, Eigil, Berulf, and Hanno tell Folkwin that they will follow him wherever he goes. As Folkwin attempts to take his family down, Berulf hits him over the head and carries him out of the village for his own safety.[3]
Refuge with the Bructeri[]
Hanno, Eigil, Folkwin, Berulf, and Luco plot their next move. Berulf urges Folkwin to search for allies so they may get revenge, perhaps the Bructeri, who has always hated the Romans, but that hatred has grown since they beheaded his uncle, Gernot Redbeard. They suddenly find themselves surrounded by the Bructeri and are taken to Kunolf the Brukteer, who invites them to stay.
That night, Folkwin awakens them from their sleep as he hears something outside of the door. A goat then enters. The Bructeri woman who they are laying with suddenly begin killing them, forcing the men to flee out the back door as the Bructeri attack. Berulf blocks the door with his body whilst the others escape. Unfortunately, he is killed by Kunolf.
They reach the Dark Land. Luco warns that no mortal has ever gone in and come back out. It is supposedly the land of the undead. Luco is too afraid to proceed and turns back around. However, he is then captured by the Romans and killed by Metellus after giving up Folkwin.[4]
